There Are No Girls On The Internetwith Bridget Todd

Season 4 drops on May 18!!!

It’s no coincidence that pivotal movements like #BlackLivesMatter and #MeToo were started and sustained by women, Black folks, and communities of color. Marginalized voices are the lifeblood of the internet and technology. But too often these same spaces are seen as spaces where white male voices are the only ones that matter. The truth is, we’ve been at the forefront of the internet and technology since the very beginning and we still are.

We’ve used tech and the internet to connect with each other, make art, tell stories, create culture, and lead activist movements fighting back against disinformation, but our stories often go overlooked. On There Are No Girls on the Internet, digital activist and veteran podcaster Bridget Todd is chronicling what the online experience looks like for us, and the overlooked ways marginalized voices have been at the heart of technology and the internet from the very beginning.

We need monuments to all of the identities that make being online what it is. So let’s build them.
